We are absolutely thrilled that our fundraising tally since our inaugural concert in May 2015 has now exceeded £2000. • Crisis at Christmas
  • SWIFT Medics
  • British Legion
  • Revival
  • Veterans' charities
  • Dorothy House
  • Cancer Research
  • Jemima's Gift
  • 1st Cirencester Scouts
  • National Autistic Society

If you're interested in getting involved in 2017, we would love to hear from you. We have vacancies in particular for violins - and we always welcome more supporters at our concerts.

We look forward to supporting more charities - local, national and international - as part of our exciting plans for 2017. Watch this website for announcements of our 2017 programme!

INAUGURAL EVENING CONCERT RAISES MORE THAN £400

Date: 21 November 2016

For our winter concert in 2016, we broke with tradition and put on an evening concert. This gave as an opportunity to work as a group on some different music, with a much more 'classical' feel. We were also lucky to be joined by two fabulous soloists - Catherine Oliver on cello and Rhiannon Milner on flute.

The concert was held in St Peter's Church in Malbrorough - a beautiful venue which we would love to perform in again in future. We were delighted to raise £423 for SWIFT Medics during the evening, bringing up total fundraising tally up to £1959.

Strings Incognito take part in the BBC's Virtual Orchestra

Date: 16 August 2016

The BBC's Virtual Orchestra is a chance for players across the country to collaborate in a performance of Bizet's Toreador Song. We recorded our submission in August, and enjoyed the experience of being conducted (virtually!) by Marin Alsop. Our video has headed off over the itnernet to the BBC, and we wait to see if we made the final cut when the complete performance is broadcast at the Last Night of the Proms.

Celebrating Calne ToWn Hall's birthday

Date: 27 July 2016

We were delighted to be able to help the people of Calne to celebrate the Town Hall's 130th birthday. Our lunchtime concert attracted a large and enthusiastic audience, who enjoyed a wide variety of music, some great cake, and a speech by the Deputy Town Mayor. You can see full details and our programme on the past concerts page.

As well as providing lunchtime entertainment, the event raised more than £100 for the Town Mayor's charities.

A DAY OUT AT THE AAVMC's NOT FORGOTTEN RALLY

Date: 23 July 2016

We're pretty certain that Strings Incognito are the first string orchestra ever to perform at a motorbike rally! Saturday 23rd July saw us performing our frst outdoor concert at the All Arms Veterans Motorcycle Club's annual rally in Bradcford-on-Avon. This year's theme was Not Forgotten, in memory of the Battle of the Somme, raising money for veterans' charities.

We had a fabulous morning playing to an enthusiastic crowd, many of whom had camped over the night before. It's safe to say that we played to a few people who weren't sure what to make of a string orchestra - but we well and truly won the audience over, and were invited back to perform next year on the spot!

Thanks so much to the AAVMC for the warm welcome and a fantastic morning - we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves.

Strings Incognito on the BBC!

Did you catch our conductor, Nicola Ashton, on the radio this morning? Nicola was on BBC Wiltshire Sound, telling the good people of Wiltshire all about our orchestra and why they should join.
